Modos, a startup focused on e-paper technology, has developed a kit capable of driving e-paper displays at a record refresh rate of 75 Hz, significantly improving their usability for computing tasks. The Modos Paper Monitor and Dev Kit features an open-source FPGA-based display controller and an API, allowing developers to experiment with various e-paper panels while enhancing the speed and responsiveness of e-paper displays. The crowdfunding campaign for the kit is currently underway, with shipping expected in January 2026.
