The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence has launched a new reasoning model named K2 Think, designed to compete with OpenAI and DeepSeek, while being significantly smaller at 32 billion parameters. Developed in collaboration with G42 and built on Alibaba's Qwen 2.5, K2 Think achieves impressive performance through advanced techniques like long chain-of-thought fine-tuning and test-time scaling, positioning the UAE as a growing player in the global AI landscape.
