Claude Tag lets teams add Anthropic’s Claude AI directly into Slack channels as a full-fledged member. Once an admin grants access to specific channels and tools—databases, codebases, analytics platforms—anyone can tag @Claude with a task. It remembers channel context over time, plans multi-step workflows, runs them asynchronously, then posts results in a thread. At Anthropic, 65 percent of the product team’s code now comes from their internal Claude Tag instance, and the pattern has spread to support tickets, bug hunts and metric tracking. Four core features set Claude Tag apart. First, it’s “multiplayer”: one Claude that anyone in a channel can interact with, picking up from each other’s prompts. Second, it builds contextual memory across its channels and connectors, so you don’t need to re-explain background every time. Third, if you enable “ambient” mode, Claude will proactively flag updates, follow up on dormant threads or surface relevant data without a fresh prompt. Fourth, tasks run in parallel and over time—Claude can schedule and execute jobs autonomously while you move on to other priorities. To deploy it, admins define which channels and tools Claude can access, effectively creating separate Claude identities for sales, engineering or other teams. Permissions and token-spend limits can be set per channel or organization, and every action is logged with requester details. Enterprise and Team customers can join the beta today: pair Claude Tag with Slack, connect your tools, set a monthly spend cap, then test in a private channel. After 30 days, Claude Tag replaces the existing Slack app, and eligible orgs receive an introductory credit.
