Claude Fable 5 is now live on AWS Bedrock, rolling out to all accounts based on your usage levels. If you don’t see it yet, reach out to AWS Support for faster access. When you call Fable 5 with a prompt that’s flagged as harmful, the request automatically shifts to Opus 4.8, which carries lower per-token rates. If a conversation gets blocked mid-stream, you pay Fable’s rate for tokens up to the block point, then Opus pricing for everything that follows. Detailed pricing schedules are on the Amazon Bedrock pricing page.
Anthropic’s agreement with AWS also sets a 30-day traffic-retention policy for all Mythos-class models—Fable 5, Mythos 5 and any future models of equal or greater capability. That means every input and output stays on Anthropic’s servers for a month, helping them monitor patterns and enforce safety measures. If you’re building on Bedrock, you can tap into these built-in safeguards without extra setup—your harmful or off-policy queries get routed away from Fable’s main engine automatically. And because it all runs under AWS’s infrastructure, you can combine it with other Bedrock services, training pipelines or Trust Center compliance tools.
