MTS, short for Monitoring the Situation, just launched on X with backing from Andreessen Horowitz and angel investors including Dan Romero, Packy McCormick, Soona Amhaz, Julia DeWahl, Zach Perrett and others. The founding team—Chris Bakke, Theo Jaffee, Gabriel Dickinson and Sophie (@netcapgirl)—will lead a lineup of hosts such as Mark Halperin, Jayden Clark, Jack Farley, Amit Kukreja, Steven Sinofsky, Jesse Genet and Nathan Labenz. Their goal is to interview key figures in tech, business, politics and culture around the clock, covering whatever the “Current Thing” is on X in real time. The concept echoes CNN’s original “Randemonium” idea: continuous, angle-by-angle coverage of whatever matters right now. But unlike traditional TV, MTS treats X as the real-time world stage—where breaking news, debates and insider takes happen instantly. Marc Andreessen calls this “sense-making”: unpacking what’s happening and why it matters. MTS is inviting more hosts, guests and sponsors to join via Discord and is taking pitches at pitch@mts.now.
